Welcome to our first Tiverton and Tilstone Fearnall Parish Plan newsletter. Over the next 12 months or so, we will be keeping you up to date with this project. Our aim is to produce a Plan of how we, as a community wish to develop in the next few years, and an Action Plan setting out how we wish to achieve our aims. We will also seek to have the Parish Plan adopted, and incorporated into the District Plans of Chester City and County.

Our first goal is to get the community together, and to do this we are holding a History Day, which is earmarked for Saturday, 20^th March 2004. We will confirm the date in due course. Planning is underway, and we have already begun to collect photos and interesting stories about our locality.

However, to make it a really enjoyable exhibition, we need more materials. What about all those pictures that you have of the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's; pictures of events in the Parish, pictures of school days, outings, and celebrations? Have you got any reminiscences, records of old village life, anything about the traders and artisans who worked here, the old Post Offices, deeds, rent books, newspaper cuttings?

Get together with your neighbours, and contact the steering committee. Let us have it all by the end of January, so that we can work with you to produce a memorable day.

The History Day will be the first occasion when we can gather feedback from the whole community, about what we like about the Parish, what we would like to see improved, or changed.
This feedback will then form the basis of a questionnaire, which we will subsequently deliver to every household in the Parish.

We will tell you more about this and about the progress of the Plan in the months to come.

This is a project, which intends to identify what needs we have as a community, and to ensure we have a voice in our future. It is a new challenge for all of us, but one which we hope will both enjoyable, and beneficial to the spirit of our community. To be a success we need your help and involvement!
